ForecastMyCashflow.com is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Our Privacy-First Approach

We built this tool with privacy as a core principle. Your financial data stays on your device by default. We don't require accounts, and we don't store your cashflow data on our servers. The calculator runs entirely in your browser.

Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally (On Your Device)

When you use the calculator, your data is stored in your browser's localStorage:

  • Cashflow data: Income items, expense items, scenarios, and settings you create
  • Exchange rates: Custom exchange rates you've set
  • Preferences: Theme (light/dark), language selection

The calculator does not upload your financial entries to our servers. Backup files contain those entries in plain text; store them privately. A restore reads your selected file locally. Files saved through a cloud storage provider are subject to that provider’s practices. We cannot recover a lost local forecast.

Information We May Collect

  • Analytics data: When configured, optional Cloudflare or Vercel Web Analytics helps us understand visits and usage. It may process page URLs, referrers and technical information such as browser and approximate location. Our custom events do not contain financial entry names or amounts. Hosting and security services may separately process request logs, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
  • Contact information: If you email us, we'll have your email address and the content of your message.

How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Understand which features are most useful
  • Identify and fix technical issues
  • Improve the tool based on usage patterns
  • Respond to your questions or feedback

Cookies

We use minimal cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Preferences such as theme, language and analytics consent use localStorage; hosting or security services may use essential cookies
  • Usage analytics: The optional browser analytics integration waits for your consent. Your choice is saved in localStorage. Hosting and security traffic logs operate separately from this optional browser integration.
  • Advertising cookies: If ads are displayed, third-party advertising networks may use cookies. See "Third-Party Services" below.

Third-Party Services

We may use the following third-party services:

  • Cloudflare or Vercel Web Analytics: For optional usage statistics. The configured provider’s privacy policy applies. Financial amounts and entry names are not included in our custom analytics events.
  • Advertising: This version does not load AdSense through the analytics banner. Advertising requires a separate consent setup and corresponding privacy information before activation.

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Data Sharing & Transparency

We do not upload calculator entries to analytics providers or sell those entries. Service providers may process technical request information to deliver, protect and measure the site:

  • With service providers who help us operate the site (analytics, hosting)
  • If required by law or legal process
  • To protect our rights or the safety of users

Data Security

Since your cashflow data stays in your browser, security is largely in your control. We recommend:

  • Using a secure, up-to-date browser
  • Not using shared or public computers for sensitive financial planning
  • Clearing browser data if using a shared device

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access your data: Your data is already on your device; you can export it anytime
  • Delete your data: Clear your browser's localStorage to remove all saved data
  • Opt out of analytics: Open Privacy choices in the footer and select Decline. If analytics was previously accepted, the page reloads to stop that browser integration. Your saved forecasts stay intact. This does not erase previously collected data or hosting/security logs.
  • Opt out of personalized ads: Adjust settings at Google's Ad Settings or use ad blockers

Children's Privacy

This site is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll indicate the update date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
